Following the entry of the 21st century, with the rapid growth of the national economy and the rapid development of the power generation, substation and motor industries, my country’s domestic insulation material market with strong demand has been promoted. This has greatly accelerated the development of layer molded insulation materials in my country. At present, some products have reached a high level, especially composite insulating paper, which has strong competitiveness in the international market. In the late first decade of the 21st century, my country became the world’s largest producer of insulating materials.
During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period (2006 – 2010) at the beginning of the 21st century, the installed capacity of my country’s power generation equipment increased year by year at a rate of about 10, and the rapid development of household electrical appliances, railway construction, etc. has provided greater space and market for development. During this period, insulating materials were widely used in many fields such as electrical appliances, electronic information, automobiles and aerospace. Corresponding to this, insulating materials such as insulating paints, insulating paper, insulating pipes, and insulating boards have developed significantly. In recent years, the innovative application of insulating materials has gradually become one of the key driving forces for my country to promote sustainable energy solutions, and the country also attaches great importance to the development of insulating materials.
First of all, in the “National Medium-and Long-Term Science and Technology Development Plan Outline (2006 – 2020)” promulgated by my country in recent years, it is proposed to focus on research and development of high-performance composite materials and large and ultra-large composite structural components that meet the development needs of basic industries of the national economy. Preparation technology, which also shows that the development of my country’s high-performance composite materials has been listed as a priority theme for basic materials in my country’s manufacturing field. Secondly, the “Guidance Catalogue for Industrial Structure Adjustment (2005 Edition)” issued by the National Development and Reform Commission lists composite materials and functional polymer materials as industries encouraged by the state for development. In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposed in my country’s 12th Five-Year Plan for Raw Materials Development issued in January 2011 that the new materials industry is the pioneer in the development of the materials industry and an important strategic emerging industry. Accelerating the cultivation and development of new materials industries is of great strategic significance for supporting the development of strategic emerging industries, ensuring the construction of major national projects, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and building new advantages in international competition. The widespread application of electrical equipment has brought broad development space to new materials: In recent years, driven by the strong demand for electricity, China’s electrical equipment industry has entered a period of ultra-high-speed growth, which has been significantly improved not only in scale but also in technology, and the industry is also facing rare development opportunities. The recent energy conservation and environmental protection requirements proposed by China have brought huge opportunities for energy conservation and consumption reduction products in the electrical equipment industry.
With the advent of a new round of power investment boom, power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing companies will be at full capacity in the next few years, showing a situation of strong production and sales and a very prosperous situation. The operating reliability and service life of core equipment such as transformers depend to a large extent on the resin substrate/molding materials used. In addition to the performance requirements of the laminate used in transformers, in addition to the requirements for mechanical strength, electrical properties, good heat and moisture resistance, and good machinability, in recent years, in order to ensure that the transformer is in operation. Better reliability in operation, there are higher requirements for its heat resistance and arc extinguishing performance under high pressure. For resin-based reinforced composite material manufacturers, the rapid growth of power transmission and distribution equipment and other industries has injected strong impetus into the development of the entire industry. The rapid development of rail transit construction has ensured a strong demand for new materials: according to the national “Medium and Long-Term Railway Network Plan”, by 2020, the national railway operating mileage will reach 100,000 kilometers, major busy trunk lines will be separated into passenger and cargo lines, and the double-track ratio and The electrification rate has reached 50, the transportation capacity meets the needs of national economic and social development, and the main technical equipment has reached or approached the international advanced level. In addition, of the infrastructure investment plans introduced by the state in recent years, about 1.8 trillion yuan will be invested in railways, highways, airports, and major infrastructure construction, of which railway investment is about 500 – 600 billion yuan.
